About the Course
From the Our Stories to Tell Academy series
✨ Course Description
In the 1920s, segregation laws in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, kept Black residents from riding city buses. Instead of waiting for permission, they took the wheel — creating The Safe Bus Company, the largest Black-owned bus system in America. This inspiring story of innovation, unity, and resilience helps readers see how everyday people change history through courage and creativity.
